About MFI

If you own an Apple device and when buying a cable or charger you happened to read the MFi marking on the packaging, you have made the right choice.
Apple products have very specific characteristics, and only the brand’s own accessories or those with MFi certification are suitable for connection to devices such as the iPhone, iPad or iPod.
Apple has created a licensing programme called MFi, or Made for iPhone/ iPad/ iPod, which allows customers to recognise which third-party products are actually verified and certified by the brand itself. For manufacturers, obtaining certification involves complying with requirements and protocols dictated directly by Apple and passing tests to ensure full compatibility with iOS devices.
The intention is to ensure maximum security by informing owners of Apple devices that there is a distinction between counterfeit accessories on the market and those certified by the company that meet precise standards. Checking the presence of Apple MFi certification is essential, as using non-certified accessories could cause more or less serious damage to devices.
